Financial Aid – Make sure you know all of the schools financial aid options available. You donÕt want to end up paying out of pocket for things that could be repaid when you have your degree.
Do They Offer Online Classes Only? – This is a red flag. Although, the university or college may be fully accredited. If they offer online classes only, then they might be looked down upon by future employers.
What Is Their Reputation Like? – Find reviews online and see what other students have to say about the school? What were their job prospects like after they had graduated.
What Is Their Customer Service Like? – Try calling their office and ask a few questions. How helpful are they in getting you the information you need. If they are difficult, it could prove to be a problem throughout your educational experience.
Look At The Faculty Credentials – Look at the background of the teachers and faculty. Are they experienced and reputable in their field? This will tell you more about the quality of the education you will recieve.
Compare Costs – One way to find a cheaper school is to look at colleges that are Òbrick and mortarÓ schools that also offer online courses. If the school is located in a lower cost area, even with out of state tuition factored in, you may be able to get a great deal on your degree.
How Are The Classes Presented? – Find out what formats the classes will be taught in. Will they be presented online, through email or mailed instructions. Find this out ahead of time so that you will be sure that the format the classes are presented will work with your availability.
Accreditation – Make sure the school has regional accreditation above all. National is nice, but regional is the most important.
Look At The Brick and Mortar Schools – Check out the programs offered by brick and mortar schools. There are 100Õs of US schools now that offer online degrees. They also happen to not be the ones that do the most advertising, you have to do the research to find them.
Consider The Difficulty of the Classes – If you are in a hurry to get your degree to move on to a masters. You might not want to spend the extra time and energy going to a more prestigious school. Consider a prestigious school if you are aiming to get into a prestigious masters program or to impress employers.
