Need money for college? A work-study program can give you the financial assistance you need and other benefits you may have not even considered. Find out if you qualify for a work-study program here.

While work-study programs are readily available through the federal government, some schools offer work-study programs as well. A work-study program can help you pay for your college expenses and give you valuable work experience in the process. In most cases, you will be performing work related to your course of study.

How Much Does a Work Study Program Pay?
The amount of money that you receive from your work-study program will depend on the work you do and the skill level that is required. You will make at least the federal minimum wage. Any amount that you make is paid directly to you and can be used for college expenses, such as tuition, fees, and room and board.

Qualifying for a Work-Study Program
Work-study programs are usually given to students who have a financial need. Your program will be based on when you apply, your level of need, and the level of funding at your school. You stand a better chance of qualifying for a work-study program if you apply early.
